UGC Ad Brief Template for Meta and TikTok

Immagine dell'articolo

A UGC ad brief has one job: tell the creator what to film so the video works as an ad. That means one audience, one angle, a hook for the first three seconds, proof the viewer can see and a call to action that matches the ad button.

On Noovid you only write the creative part. The price, usage rights, revisions, delivery deadline and payment are the same for every order, so they don't belong in the brief.

For organic content, use the UGC brief and script templates or the complete guide to creating a UGC brief.

UGC ad brief template

Write one brief per creative concept. Choose the video length (15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds) when you create the project, then fill in:

Product: [Exact product and variant you'll ship]

Market and language: [Country and spoken language]

Where it will run: [Meta Reels, Meta feed, TikTok, or all three]

Audience: [One person, their situation and what they've already tried]

Angle: [The one reason to choose the product]

Hook: [The opening line or idea for the first three seconds]

Proof to show: [A visible detail, a demonstration or a claim you can substantiate]

Shots: [Numbered list of must-have shots]

Call to action: [Spoken line that matches the ad button]

Do not say: [Claims, comparisons or wording to avoid]

Format: [9:16 or 4:5, and whether you want on-screen captions]

Reference: [One example video and what to take from it]

If someone who hasn't seen the project can read it and tell you what to film, what to say and what to avoid, it's ready.

A completed brief for a Madrid supplement brand

Product: Magnesium capsules, 60-count pouch.

Market and language: Spain, Spanish.

Where it will run: Meta Reels and TikTok, from the brand's account.

Audience: A woman in her late thirties in Madrid who wakes during the night, has tried herbal tea and a sleep app, and distrusts miracle claims.

Angle: A careful buyer checks the label before anything else.

Hook: "This is the first detail I check on a magnesium label."

Proof to show: The form of magnesium, the dose per capsule and the pouch contents.

Shots: Hook to camera, phone checked at night, pouch close-up, label close-up, capsule taken as directed, CTA.

Call to action: "Check the label yourself."

Do not say: That it cures a condition, guarantees sleep or replaces treatment. No "I slept better" unless it's the creator's own experience and the claim is lawful in Spain.

Format: 9:16, captions on screen, nothing important in the bottom or right edge.

Notice it never asks the creator to claim a result they haven't had.

Brief mistakes that waste a shoot

Two angles in one video. "It's natural, it's affordable and it helps you sleep" gives the creator three jobs and the viewer nothing to remember. To compare angles, brief two videos.

Testing hooks inside one video. A hook about price and a hook about sleep lead into different ads. To test openings, order a second video on the same angle with a different hook.

Text in the wrong place. On TikTok and Reels the bottom and right edges sit under captions and buttons, so a product name or price filmed there disappears once the ad runs.

Deciding late who posts it. If the creator should post the video or you want to run it as a partnership ad from their account, add Social Boost or the partnership ads add-on when you order, not after delivery.

Writing the hook

Good hooks call out the problem, voice the objection or name a common mistake. Skip claims like "This changed my life". For more, see how to create UGC that sells in the first three seconds, and for platform specifics, UGC for Meta ads and UGC for TikTok ads.

Other markets and disclosure

For several countries, brief a creator in each market rather than translating one video; see how to run UGC ads across European markets. Disclosure only matters if the creator posts the video or you run it from their account: then it needs a clear ad label at the start, such as "Werbung" in Germany or "publicité" in France.

What Noovid handles for you

Fixed prices from €75 (15 seconds) to €149 (60 seconds), no creator commission and no subscription for open briefs. Every order includes three revisions, full commercial rights with no expiry (paid ads and agency transfer included) and delivery within 10 days of creator approval or product receipt, whichever is later. Noovid Pro (€79 a month) adds direct creator invites and 5-day delivery from invited creators.

Frequently asked questions

Should a UGC brief include a full script?

Usually not. Give the hook, proof, shots and CTA and let the creator word the rest. Mark any lines that must be exact, such as regulated claims or offer terms.

Do I need to put usage rights in a Noovid brief?

No. Every Noovid order includes full commercial rights with no expiry, including paid ads. Creator posting and partnership ads are add-ons you choose when ordering.
