Partnership Ads vs Brand-Handle Ads: What $130M of Meta Spend Shows

Immagine dell'articolo

Meta partnership ads run a creator's video from the creator's account, with your brand shown beside it in the ad header. They beat the same video run from your brand account. Agentio's analysis of $130M of Meta spend found 19% higher CTR, 10% higher conversion rate and 5% lower CPA for partnership ads. The same data shows winners fade after about five weeks, so the format only pays off if you keep feeding it new creative.

What does the data say?

Agentio published the study on 12 August 2026 on its blog, and Martechvibe covered it two days later. It covers 65,000 Meta partnership ads across 137 brands. Agentio ran the identical video from two accounts, the creator's and the brand's, so the difference comes from the account alone. That makes it the most useful number when you are deciding how to run a video you already have.

Agentio sells creator ad campaigns, so it isn't a neutral party. Meta's own figure points the same way, though: partnership ads deliver 19% lower CPA and 13% higher CTR than standard ads (Social Media Today).

Why does the creator's account perform better?

A partnership ad shows the creator's name next to yours with a "Paid partnership" label. To the viewer, it reads as a person recommending a product, not a brand selling one. In Agentio's words, run the same video from the brand account "and the trust signal is gone".

It also helps delivery. Martechvibe reports that partnership ads let Meta use the creator's followers and engagement history alongside your own data, so the algorithm starts with a better idea of who is likely to respond.

How do partnership ads work?

Many teams still call this whitelisting. On Meta, partnership ads are the built-in format, and the process is short.

First, the creator gives permission. Since Meta's December 2025 update, a creator can share a partnership ad code with a brand, for existing posts and for new UGC (Social Native). Then you enter the code in Ads Manager and set up the campaign as usual. The ad runs with both names in the header, and you control the budget.

On Noovid, partnership ads are a paid add-on: you order the video and run it as an ad from the creator's account. If you also want the creator to post the video on their own profile, add Social Boost. For where Meta is taking creator discovery, see our guide to the Meta Creator Marketing Hub.

When are brand-account ads still the right choice?

The creator's account matters most when you are reaching people who don't know you yet. Running videos from your own brand account still makes sense in three cases.

On product pages and marketplace listings, there is no account name to show, and the video's job is to demonstrate the product. In retargeting, people who already visited your site know who you are, so a creator's endorsement adds less. And many UGC creators make videos for brands without showing them to their own audience. Running the licensed video from your own account is the normal arrangement there. Our explainer on what makes a UGC creative covers the formats.

How many creator ads should you test each month?

In Agentio's data, winners last 36 days on average. With only 1 in 5 tests becoming a winner, Agentio estimates that keeping 10 winners live takes about 40 new ad tests a month.

As Agentio's co-founder and CEO Arthur Leopold told Martechvibe, "The biggest misconception in creator advertising is that success comes from finding one winning ad."

Judging too early is the other trap. At under $100 of spend, 45% of eventual winners still looked like losers. Agentio recommends a spend floor of about $1,000 per test before you decide.

You don't need 40 videos a month. Agentio's ratio works out to about four new tests for every winner you want live. A smaller brand aiming for two or three live winners should budget for 8 to 12 new videos a month rather than one batch a quarter. Our guide to how many UGC videos you need each month helps you work out your own number.

What should brands do with this?

Make partnership ads your default when reaching new customers, and agree ad permissions in the brief, before the video is filmed. Our UGC ad brief template has a section for usage.

Plan creator ads as a monthly routine, not a one-off campaign. Fixed prices make that easier to budget: on Noovid, videos cost €75 for 15 seconds, €99 for 30, €129 for 45 and €149 for 60, from creators in the 20 eurozone countries, with three revisions included.

Finally, set a spend floor before you launch and stick to it. Your floor may be well under $1,000, but decide it in advance, so you don't switch off a future winner too soon.

FAQ

Are partnership ads the same as whitelisting?

They are the same idea in Meta's built-in format. The creator grants permission, and the brand runs the creator's video as an ad from the creator's account.

How long does a winning creator ad last on Meta?

About 36 days on average, according to Agentio's analysis of 65,000 partnership ads. After that, plan to replace it.
